State Association Assists Locals with Their Value Proposition: A Case Study

 

Uncover the Barriers

In a year-long study, Indiana REALTORS® leadership travelled their state to uncover the biggest issues facing local associations. “The local value proposition” ranked in the top three.

IAR knows the benefit of unifying around a value message from the experience of discovering their own value proposition several years ago. But few local associations have a proven roadmap to highlight the most valuable benefits and discover their value proposition – beyond MLS.

Karl Berron, CEO of Indiana REALTORS® frames the issue and their approach:

Communicate and Present a Solution

IAR decided to use their Leadership Summit (for incoming Presidents and Association Executives) to help their 26 local associations discover their unique value proposition (beyond MLS). Indiana REALTORS® then presented each attendee the workbook BREAKTHROUGH VALUE to encourage them to take on the work themselves. They took an additional step to identify five associations to receive consulting time with Melynn to get outside support at key milestones of the process.
