Member and Non-Member Research (Surveys) – Nebraska Pharmacists Association
(1) For members, to gauge member satisfaction and to find new opportunities for generating non-dues revenue.
(2) For non-members, the goal was to determine preferences of practitioners when considering joining a pharmacy association: what is important to them and what keeps them from joining.
Approach
We created and deployed two distinct surveys asking for input that will provide actionable feedback to staff and volunteer leaders. The member survey was deployed via email; NPA compiled a mailing list of 4,000 non-members across Nebraska. We designed and mailed a postcard with a link to the survey site. Once the survey closed, we prepared and presented results and recommendations to NPA leadership at a board meeting. The survey report linked to significant findings that will allow NPA to make new decisions and take action against their long-term goals.
Outcome and Feedback
“The survey assisted us in gathering needed feedback about our association. One of the best outcomes of our process working with nSight Marketing was the meeting with Melynn, our association staff AND our Board of Directors. We collectively reviewed the survey results and the Board engaged in very productive discussions about how the results will shape strategic planning. Because of our discussions, we now have more focused goals, commitment and ownership by our Board, and direction for staff. We have taken many of the suggestions and incorporated them into our communications with our members. An example is telling our members, ‘because of your input on our survey, we have implemented a daily email with the latest pharmacy news.'”
