Tri-County Suburban REALTORS® Case Study
Who merges during a Pandemic? You do that when you have the confidence, through years of collaboration and intentional planning, and you decide that there’s no better time than during a crisis situation.
This is not a case study about Strategic Planning per-se; it’s a study of timing and using strategic planning to decide the best time to present a merger to leaders and then to members.
The association leadership from Suburban West and Montgomery County REALTOR® Associations were passionate about looking ahead to help support their members’ best possible future in their new reality.
It seemed more important than ever to find ways to offer members more value in new ways. To do that, two healthy organizations moved forward with a vote to merge to form Tri-County Suburban REALTORS®.
The process is successful for these reasons:
- The two organizations made a commitment to shared values and a strong collaboration across their geography. They renewed their outreach commitment, to support community and respect the diversity of their membership.
- Two committed CEOs and a transition team who knew that a merger strategy must address issues both big and small to deliver more value to the member.
- A big, bold vision that keeps the group focused on the best possible future for the organization.
